Alamosans! Help plant trees in Alamosa!
It’s Alamosa Arbor week from April 22 to April 28. Please join the Alamosa Tree Board, Alamosa Department of Parks and Recreation, and other local folk in planting trees in our city.
We’ll be planting trees in Cole Park on Monday, April 24, 4 pm, with the help of PALS (La Puenta Children’s Program). On Wednesday, April 26, high noon, we’ll plant Colorado Spruce trees in the Alamosa Cemetery – take a lunch break and lend a hand!
Thursday morning, April 27, 10 am, we’ll plant a couple of shade trees in Jardin Hermosa (the park is NE of the Elementary School at the intersection of Tremont and 6th).
Bring a shovel if you have one. We’ll also discuss proper tree planting and care as we get some exercise. Alamosa received a Colorado Tree Coalition grant that will provide tree care equipment including tree gators for watering new trees and for equipment to be used to demonstrate proper tree care during future local workshops.
